NeGD, MeitY organises 43rd Batch of Chief Information Security Officers’ Deep Dive Training Programme from today under Cyber Surakshit Bharat Initiative

Initiative Name: Cyber Surakshit Bharat, under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Objective: To spread awareness about cyber-crime, build capacities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT officials across government departments, enhancing cyber safety and enabling organizations to defend against cyber-crimes.
Organizer: The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), as part of its Capacity Building scheme.
Programme Duration: April 8-12, 2024.
Location: Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi.
Participants: From Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Inaugural Attendance: Senior officials from MeitY, NeGD, & IIPA.
Training Focus: Educating CISOs on understanding cyber-attacks, latest safeguard technologies, legal provisions, policy formulation in cyber security, and building cyber crisis management plans.
Goal: Enhance awareness and capacities to create a cyber resilient ecosystem; support Digital India by securing integrated delivery of government services to citizens.
Programme Impact: Since its launch in June 2018, 43 batches have been conducted, training over 1,604 CISOs and frontline IT officials, marking it as a first-of-its-kind initiative under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Cyber Surakshit Bharat: A government initiative aimed at increasing cybercrime awareness and enhancing the cybersecurity capabilities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and IT officials across all government departments.
NeGD: The National e-Governance Division, responsible for supporting e-governance initiatives and capacity building within India's government departments.
Capacity Building: Efforts to improve skills, abilities, and competencies among CISOs and IT officials in government sectors, particularly in cybersecurity.
Public Private Partnership (PPP): A cooperative arrangement between one or more public sectors and private sectors, aimed at funding, building, and operating projects, such as cybersecurity training programs.
Cyber Resilient Eco System: An environment where government departments can anticipate, withstand, recover from, and adapt to adverse cyber events or attacks.

Cyber Surakshit Bharat Initiative: Launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to enhance awareness of cybercrime and strengthen the cybersecurity capabilities of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and IT officials across government sectors.
